Oct and November went by in a whirlwind, with trips to Beijing and Shanghai, and then to Singapore. When I finally settled down, it was middle of November, having missed two of my facial appointments.
China is a funny market to do business. I think my boss has decided that i am the Chinese speaking person to deal with them. So a recent relevation was that I was going to look after those markets and promote our new e-initiative.
Coming to the end of the year, i am glad i have made it so far:
1. cleared my debts (study loan, any bills from settling into hk)
2. stronger as a person in dealing with rejections in a sales role
3. emotionally tougher in living alone in a foreign country, and the need to rely on friends
4. fitter and leaner, i am a vegan 3 meals a week
5. appreciation for my family, friends in SG, friends in HK
In 2009, i hope to
1. provide more for my parents, in monetary terms and being able to visit them more
2. dance & squash leisure activities
3. put in effort to learn about options
4. learn about the financial industry in China & Taiwan http://www.hksi.org/eng/home.html holds diploma and executive courses
4. get a paper qualification in alternative instruments
5. run one or two half marathons
